Five coalition members- Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Boston Arts Academy, Raw Art Works, The Theater Offensive, and ZUMIX– teamed up to organize a “salon of youth arts and youth voices” at the Massachusetts State House. ART is Part of the Solution combined performances and conversation with state representatives and senators and their staff members. The goal of the event was to provide policymakers with a powerful personal connection to the arts, to foster relationships between officials and their youth constituents, and to engage state representatives in conversation about the necessity of significant support for youth arts programs.
